film profile] by Pascal Tessaud has walked away with the Grand Prix for Best Original Score from the 16th Aubagne International Film Festival, an event dedicated to promoting young cinema and the creation of music for movies. Composed by Khulibai, Calogero Di Benedetto and DJ Dusty, the soundtrack for the feature envelopes this Les Enfants de la Dalle production, which stars such actors as KT Gorique, Rafal Uchiwa, Jalil Naciri, Liliane Rovere, Véronique Ruggia and Blade MC. The plot revolves around a young woman who runs away from her homeland of Switzerland and arrives in Paris to try her luck on the rap scene. In the meantime, she finds a job as a cook at a music society in Saint-Denis. There she meets Issa, the city’s rising star... Having already been presented at various international festivals, including Milan, Rio De Janeiro, Tubingen-Stuttgart, Cologne, Tallinn, Havana, New York Urban World, Solothurn, and Crossing Europe in Linz, Brooklyn will be released in French theatres courtesy of UFO Distribution.

As for the short films, the Grand Prix for Best Sound Creation was bestowed upon the Ukrainian film Fallen Leaves by Masha Kondakova and the Best Film Award went to Discipline by Christophe Saber (Switzerland), while the animation category was dominated by Beach Flags by Sarah Saidan and the documentary Brame by Sophie-Charlotte Gautier and Anne Loubet.
