Today, 22 April, the Play-Doc International Documentary Festival is firing the starting pistol for its 11th edition, which will unspool in the Galician city of Tui, on the border with Portugal, until 26 April. The festival (which has even been chosen as one of the ten most interesting gatherings in the world by the Best Fest Film Series in New York) is once again shining a spotlight on documentary production from all over the world, focusing particularly on the most innovative and daring titles. At the same time, it is taking a look back to celebrate the career of French filmmaker Claire Simon, as well as a look around, offering a juicy selection of Galician film production.
With a total of 17 nationalities represented in the selection, the official section includes the European titles Concerning Violence [+see also:

This edition of the gathering also features a retrospective of the works of Claire Simon, a filmmaker who has dedicated her career to portraying reality, whether in documentaries, through fiction or the middle ground between them. In Tui, there will be screenings of a number of her films, ranging from Les patients (1989), one of her first movies, to her most recent title, Gare du Nord [+see also:
