Tomorrow on 4 June the fifteenth edition of Open Roads: New Italian Cinema, which, over the years, has become the biggest event dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema in the United States, kicks off, ending on 11 June. Organised by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in partnership with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, with the support of the New York Institute of Culture, the Italian Trade Commission and Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò, the event will present audiences at the Walter Reade Theater in New York with a vast array of this year’s biggest Italian productions.

The 2015 programme of Open Roads has been put together by the Program Director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center Dennis Lim, a professor at NYU, the former film editor of the Village Voice and a regular contributor to the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, and Isa Cucinotta. There will be four screenings a day and 16 films in total. Three of these have already been purchased for distribution in the US: The Dinner [+see also:

A rich delegation will also be accompanying the films overseas, boosting the number of Italian artists who have presented and supported their films on the Lincoln Center stage over the years to over 200. Heading to the Big Apple are Cristina Comencini, Francesca Archibugi, Ivano De Matteo, Duccio Chiarini, Masbedo (Jacopo Bedogni and Niccolò Massazza), Eleonora Danco and actors Claudio Santamaria, Adriano Giannini and Sara Serraiocco.
