Taxi launches Valerio De Paolis’ CINEMA
Taxi by Jafar Panahi

Taxi, which won the Golden Bear at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, will be the first film to be distributed by CINEMA, Valerio De Paolis’ new company, which will be releasing it on 27 August, just in time for the new film season.

Sold for distribution in over 30 countries, Jafar Panahi started shooting his film on location in 2010, despite the ban on filming imposed by the regime. With a camera fixed to the dashboard of a taxi, the Iranian director drove through the streets of Teheran for months. Acclaimed by critics all over the world, in February the film was awarded the Golden Bear, which was presented to little Hana Saeidi, the niece of the filmmaker who has a role in the film.
