No Bodil for Oscar contender A War – but three for Land of Mine

Two war movies – Danish directors Martin Pieter Zandvliet’s Land of Mine [+see also:

film profile], which was also among the hopefuls for the Oscar for Best Foreign-language Film – were respectively nominated for three and four Bodil Awards, the Danish Film Critics’ annual celebration of local cinema.
But at the ceremony held on Saturday (5 March) at Copenhagen’s Bremen Theatre, hosted by actress Ellen Hillingsø and broadcast to 16 theatres all over Denmark (in collaboration with the Nordea Foundation), Land of Mine left with three prizes – Best Film (Zandvliet), Best Actor (Roland Møller) and Best Supporting Actor (Germany’s Louis Hofmann) – while A War left empty-handed.
Last month, the post-WW2 epic, about 2,000 German troopers who refused to leave the Denmark they had occupied and, as prisoners of war, "volunteered" to clear the Danish coast of 2.2 million German landmines (with half of them losing their lives or ending up severely mutilated), received six Robert Awards from the Danish Film Academy.
The Bodils for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress went to two performers for their “nuanced portraits of women”: namely, to Mille Lehfeldt for her lead role in May el-Toukhy’s Long Story Short [+see also:
film profile], and to Trine Pallesen for her performance in Michael Noer’s Key House Mirror [+see also:
