Happy Times Will Come Soon, an Italian-French co-production, tells the story of two boys, Arturo and Tommaso, who escape from a prison in the forest. War is raging around them, and the bullets whistle past, but Arturo and Tommaso forget about it all, immersed in games and daydreaming. But it doesn’t last long. Many years later, the forest that bore witness to Arturo and Tommaso’s deaths now seems to be overrun with hungry wolves.

The film is an Okta Film and Shellac Sud production, with Rai Cinema, and was made as a co-production with Arte France Cinéma. The producers are Paolo Benzi and Thomas Ordonneau, and the movie has been recognised as being of cultural interest, with contributions from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. It was made with the support of the Torino Piemonte Film Commission and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, and developed with backing from the Italian-French Bilateral Fund for the Development of Co-productions of Cinematic Works, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and France’s CNC.
