Created by producer, distributor and exhibitor Sophie Dulac, the Champs-Élysées Film Festival is celebrating its fifth birthday this year. Taking place between 7 and 14 June, the festival will offer around 100 screenings, featuring more than 80 films across the cinemas that line the iconic Parisian avenue: Le Balzac, Gaumont Champs-Élysées, Le Lincoln, Publicis Cinémas and the UGC George V.  (co-produced with the UK), includes two competition sections. The first of these brings together eight previously unreleased independent US feature films, while the second offers a line-up of 20 French and US short films. It is worth noting that a jury will be involved for the first time - this jury is co-chaired by filmmakers Nicole Garcia and Alexandre Aja, and includes actors Déborah FrançoisZita HenrotVincent Rottiers and Félix Moati, director Sophie Letourneur and writer Philippe Jaenada.

Featuring amongst the guests of honour at the festival this year are French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, US director Abel Ferrara and his young counterpart Brady Corbet, who will be giving master classes (as will jury chair Alexandre Aja). Also of note are the Industry Days, which will run from 8-10 June and will include the festival’s professional sections, including the fifth edition of US in Progress, the third Paris Coproduction Village (read the news featuring the list naming the selected projects) and a round-table on virtual reality.
