film profile] (Ireland/UK). The festival will open with Benjamin Dickinson’s US production Creative Control and close with Irish director Len Collin’s Irish production Sanctuary.

Local highlights on the documentary front include Simon Fitzmaurice’s It’s Not Yet Dark, Ken Wardrop’s Mom & Me (UK/Ireland), Brendan Byrne’s Bobby Sands: 66 Days (UK/Ireland) and Seán Ó Cualáin’s Crash and Burn. This year there is a focus on female filmmakers where some 30 films by women directors will be screened, as well as a focus on Finnish cinema, a menu of films looking at food and drink, and films made in and about Galway. The subject of this year’s public interview in the Town Hall Theatre is Irish cinema titan Jim Sheridan. For more information on the whole programme, click here.
