film profile] (winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014) by Italian director Alice Rohrwacher. Soudani is joined on the project by co-producer Carlo Cresto-Dina, of Tempesta Films.

Reynicke was born in Lima and grew up in Peru, Switzerland and the United States, where she studied anthropology. She continued her education in Switzerland, first of all at the University of Lausanne, and subsequently at the ECAL (Lausanne University of Art and Design) and the HEAD (Geneva University of Art and Design), where she qualified with a Master’s in Directing. Her first short film, 2010’s La Chienne, was presented at the prestigious Solothurn Film Festival, which also played host to her subsequent films: Mermaids and Il Matrimonio, both from 2014.

Her latest movie, Il nido, tells the story of Cora (exceptional young actress Ondina Quadri), who has come back to the village of Bucco, her birthplace, to help her father with the preparations for the important celebration of the Virgin of Bucco. The arrival of the mysterious Saverio (talented actor Fabrizio Rongione) turns the peaceful harmony of the “holy” village upside down, bringing to light a crime committed 40 years earlier by the very inhabitants of this place, and instigated by Cora’s father. This intriguing story tinged with mysticism can certainly bank on a top-notch cast, as promising Ondina Quadri, who plays Cora, has already proven herself capable of playing very demanding roles, such as the young hermaphrodite in Carlo Lavagna’s Arianna [+see also:
