The Netherlands Film Production Incentive to support 23 new films

The Netherlands Film Production Incentive has announced its support for 23 new projects, for a total amount of over €5.8 million. This should generate more than €27 million in production expenditure in the Netherlands.

Out of the 23 new projects, 19 are fiction features and four are documentaries. Fourteen are international co-productions with countries such as France, England, Denmark, Ireland, Colombia, Luxembourg and Belgium.

These figures are the result of the scheme’s second round for 2016. Two more rounds are scheduled before the end of the year; the deadlines are 30 August and 1 November.

According to a recent study (read more), the scheme supported 125 films with grants totalling €28.9 million since its launch in mid-2014 until the end of 2015.
