The 64th San Sebastián International Film Festival, to be held between 16 and 24 September, will offer up some of the biggest names on the international filmmaking scene, who will be competing in the Festival’s official selection. , from Arnaud des Pallières; a portrait of four women featuring a cast including Sergi López, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Gemma Arterton, Adèle Haenel and Solène Rigot (read more). It’s the first time for both directors at the Basque city’s “cinematographic Olympics”.

Two new European names, Swedish director Johannes Nyholm and Briton William Oldroyd, join the three Spanish filmmakers already announced - Jonás Trueba, Rodrigo Sorogoyen and Alberto Rodríguez (see news) - in the contest to take home the Golden Shell. Nyholm’s offering is The Giant [+see also:
