15/09/2016 - The line-up is to include the world premieres of Hungarian film Strangled and Israeli title Antenna

After announcing its Polish titles in competition (read the news), the Warsaw Film Festival has revealed the rest of the films that will screen in its international competition.

The titles will include the world premiere of Hungarian film Strangled [+see also:

film profile], Árpád Sopsits’ crime drama that explores the search for a serial killer in the 1950s and 1960s in the small Hungarian town of Martfű. Also receiving its world premiere will be Israeli film Antenna, directed by Arik Rotstein. The film follows a man who discovers an antenna has been placed on top of his house without his knowledge, and he soon finds himself at war with his neighbour.

Other highlights include the European premiere of Night of a 1000 Hours [+see also:

film profile], the eagerly anticipated feature debut by renowned Austrian filmmaker Virgil Widrich, whose short Copy Shop was nominated for an Oscar in 2002. Icelandic director Guđmundur Arnar Guđmundsson also proved popular in the short-film world with Whale Valley, which received a Special Mention at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
