The announcement was made by Disney Italia: “Il Vegetale will be aimed at a broad and cross-cutting audience”, said the managing director of The Walt Disney Company Italia, Daniel Frigo, “I’m so pleased that our company is able to bring one of the most well-loved characters of recent years, Fabio Rovazzi, to the big screen, along with one of the most highly-esteemed directors and screenwriters in Italy”.

The film, which is currently under development and the plot of which is still top secret, is being produced by Piero Crispino for 3ZERO2 and co-produced by The Walt Disney Company Italia, which will also distribute the film in theatres. For Fabio Rovazzi, who is 23 years-old and from Milan, this will be his first experience acting in a film, after scaling the Italian charts with hits like “Andiamo a comandare”, “Tutto molto interessante” and “Volare”, and winning five platinum records.
