Production is under way for season 3 (episodes 5 and 6) of the popular German series of feature-length criminal dramas Split Homicide (Der Kroatien-Krimi), launched by broadcaster ARD on the channel Das Erste in 2016. The show, entirely shot in and around Split, in the Croatian region of Dalmatia on the Adriatic coast, follows the investigations of police inspector Branka Maric (Neda Rahmanian) and her colleagues, Emil Perica (Lenn Kudrjawizki) and Borko Vucevic (Kasem Hoxha). The breathtaking setting for the series, with its untamed coastal nature and blue skies, combined with the way it mixes current issues with nods to the country's Yugoslavian past, has surely contributed to its huge success, attracting millions of German viewers.

After The Devil of SplitThe Death of a LegendMurder on Vis et Knife to the Throat, chapters 5 and 6 of Split Homicide have also been penned by scriptwriter Christoph Darnstädt and are being helmed by seasoned TV director Michael Kreindl. In Der Mädchenmörder von Krac, the “murder of a girl from Krac” alluded to in the title brings back memories of a similar crime committed in the back country years ago, and prompts fears that it might be the work of a serial killer. In Der Henker (“The Executioner”), the gruesome assassination of a public officer in charge of construction projects brings the Zagreb anti-corruption brigade to Split.

Filming for season 3 of this Constantin Television GmbH production started in late March and will continue until the end of May in Split, Šibenik and Zadvarje. International sales for Split Homicide are handled by Beta Film.
