€245,000 for 10 films

The latest session of the Commission for selection help for distribution at the National Film Centre – CNC has published its decisions, taken under the presidency of Raphaël Hadas-Lebel. After having handed out €214,000 to 9 films at the end of September, and a further €84,000 to 4 productions at the end of October, the Commission has aksed the director general of the CNC, David Kessler to award a further €245,000 for 10 films.

The distribiution company Les Grands Films Classiques will be given €45,000 for the theatrical release of Oasis, the film made by the Korean minister of culture, Lee Chang-Dong. Gémini Films is ebing awarded €30,000 to help with the distribution of the feature film by Joël Brisse, the first film to be awarded a grant under the box office advance scheme, and which was recently awarded at the Turin Festival. The End of Animal Reign was actually released in French cinemas on December 10. Another grant of €30,000 will be used to fund a further 5 copies for the French-Austrian co-production, No rest for the Brave [+see also:

There’s €25,000 for Shellac for the distribution of the feature length film by Eugène Green, Le monde vivant and a similar figure for Bac Films for Deux anges by Mamad Haghighat. Added to these contributions will be some further help for making additional prints. Another €25,000 will be given to Equation for Reconstruction by the Danish director Christopher Boe. This first work won a Caméra d’Or at the last Cannes Film Festival.
The long list of grants also includes one to Vision Productions, which will be given €20,000 for the distribution of Un rêve algérien by Jean-Pierre Lledo. Finally the sum of €15,000 is going to support distribution of L'ange de goudron by Denis Chouinard (Epicentre Films), Un jour de plus by Babak Payami (Solaris Distribution) and My Winter Journey by Vincent Dieutre (Les films de la Croisade).
