SCRIPTWRITERS France

A prize for the Best Writer

by

Applications for the 19th edition of the 7500-euro Prize for the Best Scriptwriter will open on the 15th of March. All feature film script-writers from all countries are welcome to apply provided they have had only three or less scripts taken to the screen and provided the script is written in French. The official deadline is on the 15th of April. The finalists, and eventually, the winner, will be elected by a jury of well-known professionals. Verdict will be published in November. This event now has its place in the French cinematic world according to Catherine Colonna, the general director of the CNC - Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC). She supports this event, for ‘it is by encouraging script-writers to turn to feature films that we can, as this event does, make full use of our great potential for generating new authors.’
