The 18th of May three representatives of the General Direction EuropeAid (Carla Montesi, Head of Unit, Catherine Colomb-Nancy, responsible of the Programme and Sarah Rinaldi, in charge of the financial aspects) presented the Euromed Audiovisual Programme. A first call for proposals, with an enveloppe of € 8 million, has been launched covering:
1. cinema archives conservation,
2. development. In this section the European Commission wants to find an organisation capable to manage a development fund for audiovisual projets,
3. promotion of Mediterranean films.

Only Mediterranean Partners’ companies and organisations, as well as Euro-Mediterranean consortia engaged in the development, promotion or preservation of Mediterranean films and TV broadcasts can get support under the new MEDA Programme funded by the Euromed Audiovisual II Regional Programme and managed by the European Commission’s EuropeAid Co-operation Office.
