- Czech cinema joins EFP with 10 new European films selected for "Europe Now» at Karlovy Vary
For the 4th year running European Film Promotion (EFP) and Variety present Europe Now, a review of 10 European films that is a sidebar event to the main Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (4-13 July).
For the first time, the «Europe Now» selection includes a film produced in Czech Republic, whose recent entry into European Film Promotion brought the number of member countries to 20. «Joining European Film Promotion will result in a lively exchange of experiences between East and West», said Pavel Strnad, head of Czech Audiovisual Producers´ Association (APA) .
The films selected for this year's "Europe Now" include Vladimir Michalek's Autumn spring(Czech Republic), Colin Nutley's Deadline(Sweden), Philippa Collie-Cousins' Happy now? (UK), Trygve Allister Diesen's Hold my heart(Norway), Sabine Hiebler And Gerhard Ertl's Nogo (Austria), Henner Winckler's School trip (Germany), Bence Miklauzič's Sleepwakers (Hungary), Christos Dimas' The cistern (Greece), Claude Miller's The newcomer(France) and Jose Luis Guerin's Work in progress (Spain).
