No-one is a prophet in his own land, as the proverb goes, but even more so in Switzerland, it seems. Add very modest state aid, its tiny market, broken up into three distinct languages, losing its talent to grasses greener and to other European countries.

Swiss sound engineer Marc von Stürler, who won a Golden Lola for sound for Touch the Sound by Thomas Riedelsheimer, also made a career in Germany before returning to Switzerland, where the new film by Bettina Oberli (Vent du Nord - Im Nordwind, 2004) was waiting for him.
Swiss actor Bruno Ganz, spends his time between Zurich, Venice and Berlin, but did not achieve a Lola for his high-profile interpretation of Hitler in La Chute [+see also:
