Plans for a magnificent state-of-the-art film and audiovisual studio situated 7 kilometers from Alicante in Spain have been given the official go-ahead. The Ciudad de la Luz - The City of Light will rise on an 800,000 square meter area and consist of four main buildings each housing several fully equipped sound stages, with 10,000 square meter fifth building set aside for the storage of electrical machinery, and the special effects department. The project even includes a special area for underwater filming.
«The City of Light» is scheduled to cost €270.45m, €88.6m for the studio area, with the remainder earmarked for nearby infrastructure that includes an audiovisual training school.
World-renowned architect, Gary Bastien, specialised in the audiovisual construction sector, drew up the plans.
