A fantastic journey across Germany
The 19th Fantasy Filmfest, a fantastic tour which will last a month, is starting today. The programme is exhaustive, for it includes 60 national premieres from 23 countries. From Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by Shane Black, the opening movie, to Dear Wendy by Thomas Vinterberg (written by Lars von Trier), chosen to conclude the festival, the nomadic Filmfest will prove everywhere it goes that the fantastic genre is a wide universe, where Bollywood, sport films, mangas, aliens and horror film zombies, coexist with such characters as Arsène Lupin (who is one of the hightlights of the "French Connection" section), Bette Davis, and Faye Dunaway.
Amongst the German films, it is worth mentioning that Kampfensage – Der letzte Schüler, a martial arts movie directed by Johannes Jaeger (produced and sold by Action Concept), is part of the official selection. The other films presented a mostly minority co-productions.
The tour will start in Munich (27 July- 3 August), before moving to Stuttgart and Nuremberg from the 3d to the 10th of August, and then in Frankfort and Cologne from the 10th to the 17th. The tour will end in Hamburg and Berlin (17th-24th August).
