Handled by Paris-based Celluloïd Dreams, the international sales of The Perfume of the Lady in Black started in Venice where the film was shown out of competition. The film then screened in Toronto. The film has attracted bueyrs from Benelux (Cinéart-Cinélibre), Switzerland (JMH Distribution), Portugal (Atalanta Filmes), the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Hollywood Classic Entertainment), the ex Yugoslavia (Cinemania) and China.
Released in France on September 14 by UGC Distribution with 327 prints, The Perfume of the Lady in Black totalled nearly 400 000 admissions in five weeks. The film will be released in Belgium on November 2 but the other European release dates are not set yet.
