The candidatures to the second edition of the EKRAN training programme, organized by Andrzej Wajda Master School, are open until December 15th. EKRAN is designed for young filmmakers, ensuring them artistic support from their initial idea to the making of it.

Participants must satisfy the following criteria: they must have professional experience and made a feature film or several short films. The goal of the organizers is to provide help with the scripts, while promoting creativity. The programme also emphasizes on the importance of pre-production and the director’s work along with the scriptwriter, producer, chief operator and the rest of the team.
Among the programme’s participants, are some of the greatest names in European cinema, such as: Wojciech Marczewski, Andrzej Wajda, Volker Schloendorff, Alexander Sokurow, Agnieszka Holland, Allan Starski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Lone Scherfig, Thomas Vinterberg, Per Fly, Morgens Rukov, Ildiko Enyedi, Udayan Prasad.

Teraz ja (Me now) by Anna Jadowska is without a doubt the best example of the programme’s efficiency. This film’s director won the Prize for best first film in the Gdynia Polish Film Festival, as well as the TVP’s president’s Award in the CentEast market organized in October as a part of the Warsaw International Film Festival. The EKRAN programme is organized in cooperation with Focal, Norwegian Film Development, Danish Film Institute, Nordrhein Westfalen Film Stiftung, Internationale Filmschule Köln, International Film School Wales. Participation is free of charge.
