Advance on Receipts for 8 films

Meeting at the beginning of December, the second committee for Advance on Receipts of the National Film Centre (CNC) selected 7 projects presented by filmmakers who have made at least one feature. Among them are the next films from Alain Resnais, Noémie Lvosky, Tony Gatlif and Manuel De Oliveira, and also two documentaries by Rithy Panh and Barbet Schroeder, and the long fiction by young director Fabrice Genestal.

Already given 500 000 euros from Eurimages, Petites Peurs Partagées by Alain Resnais starring Azéma, Pierre Arditi, André Dussollier, Lambert Wilson, Isabelle Carré and Laura Morante (read news onboard) now has a promise of Advance on Receipts from the CNC. The film, shooting from Monday, is a French-Italian co-production headed at 90% by the French company Soudaine Compagnie with help from Italian Achab Film. The second committee also awarded a film now shooting: Transylvania by Tony Gatlif, a production by Princes Films interpreted by Italian Asia Argento, Birol Unel and French-Iranian Amira Casar (see article).

Also, an advance was promised to Belle toujours, follow-up to Belle de jour (1967) which will be made by the maestro, Manoel de Oliveira (read article) and co-produced by Les Films d'Ici. The list from CNC also has L’ami de Fred Astaire (production Fidélité Films), the 4th feature from Noémie Lvosky whose last film Les Sentiments was selected at the Mostra 2003, was successful in the theatres and won the Prix Louis-Delluc. The four other projects retained for the last session of 2005 by the second committee for Advance on Receipts are Je pense à vous by Pascal Bonitzer (Rezo Production), Black Box by Fabrice Génestal (production by Ciné Nominé with Romain Duris, Marie Gillain and Gilbert Melki in the cast), Le papier ne peut pas envelopper la braise by Rithy Panh (production CDP) and Verges by Barbet Schroeder (Yalla Film).
