by

France’s Antoine Rein (Delante Films) is one of the 20 young European producers to be chosen for the seventh edition of the Producers on the Move, a European Film Promotion initiative (EFP), to take place at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival (May 17-28).

Chosen by Unifrance, Antoine Rein is continuing the tradition as French representative, following Yann Gilbert (La Mouche du Coche, 2005), François Kraus (Les Films du Kiosque, 2004), Bruno Lévy (Move Movie, 2003), Pascal Arnold (Toloda - 2002), Marc Missonnier (Fidélité Productions, 2001) and Yaël Fogiel (Les Films du Poisson, 2000).

At 32, Antoine Rein made his debut as a producer in 1997, after graduating from the ESSEC, one of France’s top business schools. He currently runs Delante Films together with Caroline Adrian, as well as Karé Productions with Fabrice Goldstein. Boasting over thirty shorts, he successfully began making features with such first films as Sexy Boys by Stéphane Kazandjian (admissions of 460,000 in 2001) and J'me sens pas belle by Bernard Jeanjean – a surprise box-office hit in summer 2004.

In 2006, Delante Films plans to go into post-production on Les murs porteurs by Cyril GelblatGiovanna Mezzogiorno, Charles Berling, Miou Miou and Schulamit Adar – co-produced by German outfit CMW and Swiss company Vega (read article). Bernard Jeanjean will start shooting J'veux pas que tu t'en ailles (a Delante/Karé co-production) at the end of May, with a cast featuring Richard Berry, Judith Godrèche and Julien Boisselier.

The company is also set to shoot Je déteste les enfants des autres (lit. “I Hate Other People’s Children”) this summer, a debut feature by Anne Fassio featuring Elodie Bouchez, Aure Atika, Axelle Laffont and Arié Elmaleh (brother of Gad). Karé Productions is currently putting together the financing for Djinns by Hugues Martin, starring Jérémie Rénier.
