Ile de France invites capital regions for cinema meetings

For the second year in a row, the Ile de France Film Commission will organise co-production meetings for the Capital Regions for Cinema (C.R.C) as part of the Cannes Film Festival.

The initiative – set up through partnership agreements between Germany’s Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Italy’s Lazio region and Spain’s Madrid Film Commission – will consist of three two-party breakfasts that will take place on the Plage Royale from 9:30-11:00 am on May 22 (IDF – Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg), 23 (IDF - Madrid Film Commission) and 24 (IDF – Lazio).

These meetings will allow the producers present to ask questions to those in charge of film policy in each of these capital regions and to present projects for which they are seeking a co-producer or distributor in one of their counterparts’ countries. French professionals expected at the meeting include: Europa Corp., StudioCanal, Pan Européenne , Légende, Fidélité Productions, Les Armateurs et Les Films d'Ici. CMW Film Company, Integral Film.

Germany’s X-Filme Creative Pool and Weltfilm will be present, while Abaco Movies, DeA Planeta, Zebra Producciones and Albatross Entertainment will represent Spain. Italy’s Lazio region will be represented by Teodora Film Revolver and Colorado Film.

The 59th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (May 17-28) will give special pride of place to the Ile de France Film Commission, headed by Olivier-René Veillon, with the official selection of films including those made in the Ile de France region, such as The Da Vinci Code (opening the festival), Paris, je t’aime (opening Un Certain Regard) and Marie-Antoinette (in official competition).

Moreover, the Ile de France region funded five films in various sections of the festival: Days of Glory [+see also:
