by

One hundred and fifty international buyers will be invited to see approximately 40 titles during the London UK Film Focus (LUFF), set to take place from June 25-28, 2007 at the new BFI Southbank venue in the UK capital.

This year’s successful two new strands, Breakthrough (presenting projects from emerging UK filmmakers looking for sales agents) and Footage screenings (providing buyers with sneak previews of uncompleted films), will be back in 2007, along with a new Production Finance Market that will promote London-based producers and the production of new UK films. The three-day export event is supported by Film London, the UK Film Council, Film Export UK (FEUK) and the London Development Agency.

Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London, said: “We are delighted to be staging LUFF once again. The event has gone from strength to strength and has become a fixture for the international industry, offering both a real opportunity to raise the global profile of the capital as a filming hub and promote established and emerging home-grown talent.” BFI Director Amanda Nevill added: “We are very excited to be welcoming LUFF once again and in 2007 visitors will be able to enjoy this exceptional focus on London film in our wonderful new BFI Southbank venue”. BFI Director The BFI Southbank, with its three cinemas and one “drop-in” digital cinema, will open officially on February 1, 2007. The 2006 LUFF was held at the West India Cineworld Multiplex in London’s Docklands area.
