Heino Deckert new chairman of EDN
Managing Director of Deckert Distribution and MA.JA.DE Productions Heino Deckert (Germany) has been elected as the new chairman of the EDN Executive Committee. He was elected at the annual General Assembly of European Documentary Network (EDN) in Amsterdam. EDN is a member-based organisation for professionals working with documentary film and television.
Deckert is taking over the position after former Chairman Ike Bertels (The Netherlands) served the maximum of four years on the EDN Board. After the election, Deckert said: "I am happy to have the confidence of the more than 800 EDN members to be elected Chairman of the EDN Executive Committee. I look forward to giving my input to the further development of EDN by contributing with my insight into the international co-production and distribution of documentaries."
The appointment took place after Deckert, together with producer/director Fredrik Gertten (Sweden), was re-elected for two more years on the executive committee. Elected as new members of the committee were independent producer and head of Dragon Forum Dorota Roszkowska (Poland) and producer and head of DocsBarcelona, Joan Gonzalez (Spain).
