APPOINTMENT UK

Colin Brown new Film Commissioner

by

The UK Film Council announced yesterday the appointment of Colin Brown as new British Film Commissioner. He will replace Steve Norris, who left last month to join London-based Framestore as head of film.

Brown has spent the past 10 years at post-production company Cinesite (Europe) and had been sitting on the UK FC’s Board since 2004, a position he just left.

Announcing Brown's appointment, John Woodward, CEO of the UK FC, said: "Colin is one of the few people with an expert understanding of the British film production infrastructure and a real understanding of how Hollywood greenlights films for particular production destinations. His experience will be invaluable in ensuring that the generous new film tax reliefs coming into force next year are promoted internationally and that the UK continues to build further on its enviable reputation as the global hub for film production, second only to Los Angeles."
