Von Trotta prepares film on German visionary

Margarethe von Trotta is currently preparing production on a film of the life of the renowned visionary Benedictine saint Hildegard of Bingen, whose 12th century work includes writings on a world in constant change, one more similar to modern physics than to science in the Middle Ages, as well as principles of alternative medicine and almost 80 symphonies.

The Clasart Filmproduktion film will begin its shoot in Hessen and Bavaria at the end of the summer.

It will be released in Germany through Concorde Filmverleih in 2008.
