Director Luigi Comencini dies
Italian maestro Luigi Comencini died today in Rome at the age of 90. He was considered to be the father of the “Commedia Italiana”, along with Dino Risi, Mario Monicelli and Ettore Scola.
His most popular films include Pane, amore e fantasia (Bread, Love and Dreams, 1953), Tutti a casa (Everybody Go Home, 1960), Lo scopone scientifico (The Scientific Game, 1972), La donna della domenica (The Sunday Woman, 1975), Quelle strane occasioni (Strange Occasion, 1976), Voltati Eugenio (Eugenio, 1980).
