Distributor Filmladen is releasing two titles today: Agnieszka Holland’s German/US co-production Copying Beethoven and Sabine Derflinger’s Austrian film 42 Plus, which opened the 10th Diagonale Festival in Graz.

The Dor Film production – beautifully scored by Andy Baum – is the story of a 40 year-old woman hit by a mid-life crisis.

Christine (Claudia Michelsen) has it all: a successful career, a happy family life with her husband (Ulrich Tukur) and their daughter, as well as a lover (Tobias Moretti). Yet, one summer in Italy, while her daughter is having her first romantic adventures, Christine risks losing everything when she falls passionately in love with the young Tamaz.

Another title of note is Austrian/French/Iranian/Iraqi co-production Half Moon [+see also:

Only two European titles open on Austrian screens this week: Philippe Lioret’s French production Don’t Worry, I’m Fine [+see also:

Also on release today is another German/US co-production Freedom Writers, distributed by UIP.
