Drenge og Piger Danser (lit. “The Boy and the Girl are Dancing”) is the story of Annika (Dyrholm), a bright and lively woman who runs a popular dance school with her mother (Birthe Neumann). The day she meets electrician Lasse (Anders W. Berthelsen), she falls madly and violently in love.
However, there is something Lasse has not told her, something unforgivable he has done. Suddenly, Annika is faced with the darker side of life and within herself. She has to accept that saying yes to love has a price.
Produced by Meta Louise Foldager for Zentropa, Drenge og Piger Danser was just awarded DKK 6.4m (€858,600) from the Danish Film Institute.
Zentropa’s distribution arm Trust Film Distribution will handle the domestic release – set for January 18, 2008 – and Trust Film Sales international sales.
