film profile] by Emanuele Crialese will open the San Francisco Film Festival tomorrow night and on May 2 will screen at Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York, before being released theatrically in the US on May 25 through Miramax, thanks also to support from Martin Scorsese who, as film producer Fabrizio Mosca of Titti Film explained, "saw in this film the story of his own family and wanted to be in New York to present it".
Crialese is not currently working on a new film, added Mosca, because "he is still too busy travelling the world presenting Golden Door, but I think he’s almost ready to leave, for Argentina perhaps, to start working on a new project".
