"Fotogrammi d’Europa": A festival without frontiers

by

From April 26-May 25, five Tuscan cities (Florence, Livorno, Siena, Arezzo and Grosseto) will host the third edition of the travelling European film festival “Fotogrammi d’Europa 2007 – Confini senza limiti”.

The event, organised by the Europe Direct Antenna of Florence, will screen films dealing with the themes of political, geographical, cultural and existential borders in Europe.

This year, the festival looks at the expansion of the EU and will take a magnifying glass to problems tied to the opening up of countries that are culturally and politically very different from one another. Thus, cinema simultaneously becomes a source of reflection and a meeting point “for rendering Europe a principle to share and experience daily with self-awareness”.
