EU supports Cineuropa for 2008

The MEDIA Programme has announced the results of the call of proposals EACEA/14/07 (Access to Markets) and EACEA/15/07 (Promotion outside MEDIA).

With €375,000 allocated for 2008, Cineuropa will be able to continue to focus on the latest news and challenges of the European film industry and will develop the work done so far by Film File Europe, formerly supported by the UK Film Council.

European Film Promotion was allocated €550,000 for its activities that take place in the MEDIA countries, plus €624,000 for the events oganised at the Toronto, Pusan, Buenos Aires film festivals, the American Film Market and the EFP News film screenings.

Other supported institutions include Cartoon – European Association of Animation Film (€245,000), Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market (€150,000) and the Berlinale Co-production Market (€80,000), among others.
