Founded in 2005, the Distribution Support funding programme supports the theatrical releases of German films abroad. Subsidies are awarded for additional measures beyond the advertising campaign already planned by the foreign distributors. Support of a maximum €50,000 is granted in the form of a conditionally repayable loan. Funding of up to € 10,000 can also be allocated as a grant.

The guidelines and the new application form for the 2008 programme can be obtained on the German Films website under the heading Distribution Support.
