Co-written by Sandra and Hugues Martin, the film is set in southern Algeria in 1960. A platoon of French paratroopers try to find a plane that has disappeared in the desert. Dropped in the middle of a huge, secret military zone, the soldiers discover the wreckage of the plane.

Inside, there are no survivors, but a briefcase marked "secret defence". Attacked by enemy soldiers, the troops find shelter in a strange village. There, a more mysterious war begins between the men and the djinns - evil and invisible creatures that awaken the most personal fears.

Produced by Fabrice Goldstein and Antoine Rein (Producer on the Move 2006) for Karé Production and Delante Films, Djinns received a €480,000 advance on receipts from the National Film Centre (CNC) and pre-sales from Canal +.

Scheduled to last until March 17, the shoot will relocate from Morocco to the Paris area. The title will be released domestically in the second half of 2010 by SND, who are also managing international sales.
