A Danish film entitled Ulvepigen Tinke (Little Big Girl) by Morten Kohlert shared the best film award at the 26th Lucas children’s film festival in Frankfurt, Germany together with British production, Thunderpants. A jury of adults and children chose these two films over the 15 in competition.
Meanwhile the jury at the International Centre for Children’s Film also designated Ulvepigen Tinke their best film, and reserved a special mention for another Danish movie called Omfavn mig mane directed by Elisabeth Rygaard.
Ulvepigen Tinke is based on Cecil Bodkers’ novel ‘Hungerbarnet’ and is the story of an orphan called Tinke. It was released in Denmark in June of this year, and to date some 130,000 people have seen it.
Ulvepigen Tinke will also be screened at the Buster children’s film festival currently on in Copenhagen.
