Four Souls of Coyote se pasea por Cartoon Movie

Este artículo está disponible en inglés.

Talented Hungarian filmmaker Aron Gauder made a huge splash with his feature debut, The District, which was immensely successful in cinemas in his country and was a star attraction at various festivals (winner of the Annecy Animated Film Festival in 2005, screened at Toronto, and awarded at gatherings such as Sitges, Kiev, Ottawa and Seoul). Now, after having toiled in vain for more than six years on the Viking saga Egill, which he was forced to abandon because it was impossible to secure the necessary funding, he has immersed himself in a new venture with Four Souls of Coyote. Currently in development, the project will be pitched on the morning of Friday 9 March at the 20th Cartoon Movie, the European animation co-production forum organised in Bordeaux.

Written by the director together with Géza Bereményi, the story of As Long as the Grass Grows is a kind of tribute to a humiliated and destroyed nation. It is an alternative, ancient and humble creation story, where man is not the crown of creation, but the weakest of all creatures. The film takes us back to the beginning of time, when Old Man begins to create the world out of a handful of mud. Everything he creates is new and nameless, and affects the rest of the world. Even feelings and desires are unknown, and when they emerge, the world becomes more and more complicated.

Squarely aimed at a family audience, the project will make use of 3D, paintings and drawings. Production duties are being handled by Paris-based outfit Les Batelières Productions (Julie Guesnon Amarante and Justine Henochsberg) and Hungary’s Cinemon Entertainment
