AN ORDINARY EXECUTION

by Marc Dugain

synopsis

The setting is autumn 1952. A young woman urologist and hypnotic healer, who works in a hospital in the suburbs of Moscow, tries desperately to get pregnant by her husband, a disillusioned physicist who only survives thanks to the love that binds him to his wife. To her horror, she is secretly called on to treat an ailing Stalin, who is on the brink of death and has just got rid of his personal doctor. The dictator worms his way into the couple’s life and strikes up with the young woman a relationship involving both personal revelations and manipulation. By turns friendly and perverted, the monster indulges in the art of terror like never before.
