LAND OF SCARECROWS

by Gyeong-Tae Roh

synopsis

A visual and sentimental poem that describes the life of three characters each chasing after their dream: Jiyoung Jang, a lesbian transvestite, who pretends she's a forty-year-old man; Loi Tan, a little, adopted Filipino boy, and Rain, a young woman who has come from the Philippines to follow her Korean dream. Their toxic land can no longer guarantee the integrity of their children and spouses, so the Koreans from the Land of Scarecrows come to the Philippines in search of the kin they seek.
