synopsis

A migration story, set in 1962. The title, in fact, means "italianacci", one of the many derogatory which had appealed Italians emigrated to Germany. The film chronicles the journey of Pietro, a nine year old boy orphan of his mother, who departs from his small town in Trentino to look for his emigratede father. Accompanying him on this journey, tough but full of discoveries, is Benito, a penniless Italian who, in spite of himself, thanks to Pietro, will discover what it means to be a father. In the background of the main story, the world of Italian immigrants in Germany and their hopes for a better future.
