DARK MATTER

by Martina Parenti, Massimo D’Anolfi

synopsis

The film describes the “Poligono Sperimentale del Salto di Quirra”, an area in Sardinia where governments from all over the world have tested new weapons for over 50 years and the Italian government has blown up their outdated munitions, inexorably devastating the landscape. With the poetic sensibility characteristic of the directors, the film enters into this environment and shows its silent everyday life. Materia Oscura is a film about the devastating cohabitation of elements of Nature – including people – and the military-industrial complex.
