FRENCH DOLLS

by Katia Lewkowicz

synopsis

Louise, Sam, Lili. Three women who don't know each other but whom will be forced to meet, get together, and compare themselves to each other by the wild will of evolution. It's the story of Louise, who leaves her family's dry cleaning business after her lover pulls some strings to get her a job in a large doll making factory. It's also the story of Lili, Miss New Caledonia, who meets a rich industrialist. And it's the story of Sam, a mother of a big family, who decides to seek her independence. The mothers, sisters, and girlfriends all put pressure on our three protagonists. The men in their lives disappear. Their daughters watch and imitate their mothers. And a new doll model is conceived, at last one that resembles a woman. But should the model adapt to the woman, or the opposite?
