BREATHING UNDER THE SEA
by Marine Place
synopsis
The story revolves around Julie, a woman in her early twenties who lives on a small island, and always has done. She helps her father on the family fishing boat, The Untameable. However, her father, Loïc, is drowning in debt and decides to get rid of the boat in exchange for a scrappage premium. This decision has a profound impact on the lives of each of the family members. Julie takes refuge in music: her saxophone sweeps her along on a journey to the farthest reaches of herself, to the very edge of madness...
