synopsis
In September 1924 the Infantry Battalion of Inca is mobilised to the War of Africa. The soldier, artisans and illiterate farmhands, have no military training. Esteve watches as his comrades fall one after another: thirst, hunger, fear and the lack of hygiene turn the human being into an animal.
