THE CREATION OF MEANING

by Simone Rapisarda Casanova

synopsis

Challenging the boundaries between fiction, anthropology and reverie, The Creation of Meaning is set in the Apuan Alps in Tuscany, where German occupying forces massacred hundreds of civilians before their retreat at the end of World War II. Pacifico, a shepherd born in the wake of the war among these breathtaking landscapes, might now be forced to abandon them, as his very existence, suspended between the phantoms of a bloody past and the harbingers of an obscure future, must bow to the gestation of the new Europe to come.
