BAB EL WEB

by Merzak Allouache

synopsis

Kamel and his brother Bouzid live in Bab el Oued, a working-class neighborhood of Algiers. Bouzid is an Internet addict. He spends his time in a cybercafé "chatting" with girls from around the world. Without really believing it will ever happen, he invites them to Algiers. But one day, Laurence, one of his French correspondents, announces that she accepts his invitation – and that she’s arriving in Algiers in a week’s time! For Bouzid, it’s a disaster: how can he welcome Laurence when he lives in a small apartment with the rest of his family?
