QUASE DOIS IRMAOS

by Lucia Murat

synopsis

Miguel, a middle class Caucasian, and Jorge a black guy from a favelas are two childhood friends who meet up in prison. Miguel is locked up for political reasons and Jorge for drug-dealing. Each defend prisoners’ rights. 20 years later, everything separates the politician from the head of the gang. The incessant flashbacks evoke very potent images of failure and dreams of brotherhood, symbolic of such divisions in Brazil.
